Lets start with a bit of a back story. When i was younger, i was never one for sports. PE lessons featured sports such as rounders, tag rugby, athletics and netball which never really floated my boat. I did quite enjoy tennis and badminton though and its something i'd love to do again sometime. Since i left school, i never felt the need to start properly exercising. I'm pretty lucky in the sense that i have never been overweight or particularly unfit. Although i've never been overweight, i have never been particularly toned or lean. I've had a bit of excess body fat here and there and have never had the physique that i always dream of.

Over the past two years, my mum has been seriously ill which meant i automatically took over all the household responsibilities and cared for her. Fortunately, she has started to recover and get back to her usual self this past year which meant that i could begin to focus on myself again. While my mum had been ill, it dawned on me that my life literally revolved around work and general day to day chores, add to this the stress that was put on me from looking after my mum and i was ready to look for some release and something to focus on, other than work!

At the time, i had just started to come across the fitness community on Instagram and bloggers/youtubers such as Carly Rowena. This made me think, hey maybe joining a gym would be a good release and new focus for me. After visiting a few gyms close to me, one being a private gym (not so good) and a few bigger chains, i decided that Nuffield Health was the one to go for! From the moment i stepped in the place, i knew it was just what i had been looking for. All the staff were incredibly friendly and informative and the general sense of the gym was great. After an initial tour and discussion with the manager, i signed on the dotted line and walked out being a new fully fledged gym member. Soon after i had signed up, i went and had my induction, programme session and health MOT. All these are included in your membership at Nuffield. Being a newbie gym goer, i found the induction really helpful as i knew how to use the treadmill and cross trainer and that was about it! Without going into too much detail, my trainer asked me if i had any goals and what my reasons for joining a gym were. Together, we devised a great programme for me to help tone areas of my body and he also recommended certain classes which would be beneficial too.

I've been going to Nuffield for over a year now and it has become part of my weekly routine. When i first started, i enjoyed doing my gym programme and using the pool but at the moment i've really been enjoying the classes. There is so much choice on the timetable that you are literally spoilt for choice, but i have been doing classes such as All Over Body Workout (toning and aerobic exercises), Legs Bums and Tums (self explanatory!), Body Jam (dance style workout) and Body Combat (martial arts inspired workout). I have also just started doing Pilates which i'm hoping in time will improve my flexibility and and Body Pump - which is quickly becoming a favourite!

I've been going to the gym frequently for just over a year and have felt so much better both physically and mentally. Physically, i have seen my body becoming more lean, more definition in my arms and my legs and bum are looking pretty good too! The gym has also really helped me feel more energised throughout the week, improved my sleep quality and has increased my motivation and confidence. It has also made me more conscious of my diet which although has never been bad, there is always room for improvements!

When i first started at the gym, i was a little anxious that i would stick out like a sore thumb and people would be thinking 'what is she doing, she is doing that wrong!' but i've come to realise that people are focusing on their own workout and more often than not, they aren't looking at you.

So, thats my gym experience so far. In short, i'm flipping loving it! It is something i really enjoy doing. I have to say though, sometimes there are days when i am just not feeling the gym and i know when i'm just not in the right mind frame to go. I try and stick to a routine throughout the week and go four times a week, always after work. I tried to go to the gym at 6am one morning but lets just say, it wasn't for me!

Let me know your thoughts on the gym and if you go! As fitness is one of my interests, i might start doing more health/fitness based posts - most will probably be documenting my addiction to buying fitness clothing though!

I know lots of people have a morning and evening skincare routine, which they never sway from and i'm always slightly envious! Of course there are brands and products which i love and regularly turn to for skincare such as Liz Earle, Origins and Garnier but i've never been too loyal to them. On a recent trip to Boots, i ventured down the skincare aisle and came across the alluring Soap and Glory section. On a weird merchandising note, i have to say that Soap and Glory's branding is great and the fun pink branding really does draw you in away from the more serious looking skincare. I was on the hunt for a new exfoliator, but nothing too drying or extreme. I spotted the Soap and Glory Scrub Your Nose In It exfoliator and after a quick read of the bottle, it went straight into my basket.

I've been using the Scrub Your Nose In It alongside the Soap and Glory Face Soap and Clarity face wash for a couple of weeks now and i've really been enjoying using them.

The Soap and Glory Face Soap and Clarity is described as a 3 in 1 Daily Vitamin C Facial Wash. I use this everyday morning and night, after removing my make up. The face wash is quite thick in consistency and has jojoba scrub beads dispersed throughout. Oh yes, this products not only cleanses your skin but also gives you a gentle exfoliation too! When i use the wash, i always make sure my face is damp beforehand as i feel that this helps the face wash breakdown and foam up a little easier. The face wash is formulated for oily/combination skin, which is one of the reasons why i bought it and i find that it really suits my skin type and leaves my skin smooth and not feeling dry or tight. Since using the product, i've noticed my skin has had no real major breakouts and looks more refreshed and bright! If you like face washes that smell good, then you will be glad to hear that this has a lovely fresh minty smell with a hint of fruitiness which is lovely and refreshing first thing in the morning!

I've only been using the Scrub Your Nose In It exfoliator for a week or so, but i'm already head over heels for it. Soap and Glory say that this scrub is super clarifying and helps to exfoliate, clean and purify the skin, lift away pore clogging dead skin cells, soak up excess oils and stimulate oxygen to your skin. Quite big claims there! The exfoliator is a thick turquoise almost paste consistency and comes in a squeezy tube with a screw top - which i love as it means that you can get every last drop out! I've used this twice since i bought it and both times i've noticed that my skin has been a lot smoother and looks more radiant. I use the exfoliator in one of two ways. If i'm just after a quick exfoliation, i will simply exfoliate specific areas of my face and rinse it off. On the back of the bottle, Soap and Glory also instruct a way in which you can use the product as a sort of mask. To do this, you simply rub some of the product on specific areas of your face which you wish to target and leave it for 1-2 minutes. I used the exfoliator in this sense once and found that it gives a more concentrated exfoliation and really purifies your skin. After each exfoliation i always ensure that i use a good moisturiser in order to ensure that my skin is nourished and hydrated after the exfoliation.

I think Soap and Glory skincare can get a little overlooked at times, but i have been really impressed with the two products which i am currently using. I will definitely be checking out anything else that they have to offer when i next fancy a change!

My gym routine has been pretty steady and i try to go 3-4 times a week and while my eating habits are never 100%, they are much improved.

Since going to the gym and being more aware of my lifestyle, i've noticed i've become more toned and definitely seen an improvement in my fitness levels. However, i'm not one to use scales as unfortunately i think i would focus too much on the number and potentially become obsessed with it, which is never a good idea. With that in mind, i still wanted some form of tracking for my workouts and i decided a fitness tracker would be good idea. There are many different trackers on the market, i know the Apple watch is a popular option. However, after speaking to a few people at the gym and after some online research, i opted for the Fitbit Charge 2.

The Fitbit Charge 2 is an all day activity tracking band which gives you stats about your workouts and daily activities such as steps taken, distance, calories burned, floors climbed and active minutes. It also gives you a gentle reminder (via a vibration from the watch) to reach your recommended 250 steps an hour, which i find really motivating! You can access various menus on the Fitbit by using the button on the left hand side of the watch or by tapping the screen lightly.

Away from the fitness aspect, the Fitbit is also able to track your sleeping habits by tracking how long and how well you have slept. I find this really interesting and quite addictive to seeing how much sleep you did actually get! My record sleep is 9 hours and 13 minutes!! Since tracking my sleep, i've found that i need to relax and put down my phone and iPad around an hour before i get into bed. When i do this, i find that i have a much more restful sleep pattern according to the Fitbit app. The Fitbit also has an alarm option where you enter the time you wish to wake up and the Fitbit will gently vibrate to wake you up nicely, much better than a beeping harsh alarm clock!

The Fitbit app goes alongside the Fitbit and gives you all of the stats that you could ever need! The app syncs by bluetooth to your band and gives you an accurate portrayal of your achievements so far and your sleep diary. There is also an option to log all of your food and water intake on the app, which you can link with your My Fitness Pal account, if you wanted to. As i'm not strictly calorie counting or watching my weight too much, i don't really use this section too much, but if you already use My Fitness Pal or just like to keep a food diary, then it is a great addition to the app. Another feature of the band that i find really helpful is that it lets you know of any incoming phone calls, text messages and calendar events, great if you are mid workout and don't want to be disturbed but are still aware of any calls and texts. The app also shows you how much battery life is left in your Fitbit, so you can charge it when needed. When you buy a Fitbit, it comes with a charger which cradles your Fitbit and takes 2 hours charging time to give you 5 days battery life.

I've talked mainly about the features of the Fitbit that appeal to me and that i use the most, however there are other features that could be useful if you are into other fitness activities. For Example, The Fitbit can track different activities such as Running, Weights and Yoga. If you are a keen runner, the band can connect to your phone's GPS to see real time stats such as pace and distance and a map of your workout which are then displayed on the app.

One of the reasons that i chose the Fitbit Charge 2 was that it looked great. It has a sporty yet modern look and is something that i wear everyday. There are four band colour choices which are blue, teal, black and plum (which i chose) and there are two rather gorgeous special edition choices which are lavender and rose gold and black and gunmetal stainless steel.

I have been using my Fitbit for a good month or so now and find it a great addition to my fitness routine. It allows me to see how i'm progressing in terms of fitness on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and has a whole host of other features to be discovered! I'm still yet to try the Relax feature where it guides you through personalised breathing sessions. Priced at £139.99, i think the Fitbit is a great option for those who want to increase their awareness of their activities and lifestyle
I just haven't felt inspired or motivated to write anything! Over the past couple of weeks though, i've gotten back into reading my favourites and discovering some new blogs, which has really given me the spark and kick up the bum that i needed! Today, i'm going to give you a rundown on what i've been loving during January and so far in February.

First up is a foundation which i bought during January. I know Loreal reformulated this foundation over the past year or so and having used (and loved) the previous version, i was excited to see how this compared. The formula is much improved and blends like a dream! It provides a medium to full coverage but still gives a natural glow, perfect for the winter months. I also found it pretty easy to find a shade that suited me, which i often struggle with when choosing a high street foundation

My favourite recent lip combo has been the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm alongside the Rimmel Lip Liner in Addiction. The Rimmel lip liner in Addiction is such a lovely medium nude shade with a brown mauve undertone and is dreamily soft to apply and non drying. I then apply the NYX Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm over the top. This has been my everyday go to recently and lasts pretty well throughout the day, with just a couple of top ups needed with the lip cream.

During January, i was sent a few of Rimmel's new releases including the Magnif'eyes eyeshadow palette. I went on holiday during January and wanted a small palette to take with me. This was the one i chose and it provided me with a great variety of shades (most are shimmery/glittery) to wear in the evening. I have also been using this is the daytime at home, using the more shimmery shades. Considering it is a high street brand, i am really impressed with the pigmentation and the complimentary shade range.
Now onto a few rediscovered favourites. First up is my rekindled love for the Paco Rabane Lady Million fragrance. I used to be obsessed with this perfume, it has a lovely warm and kinda sexy aroma to it. I received this bottle for Christmas and haven't stopped spritzing it since!

Another rediscovered favourite is the Benefit They're Real Mascara. It really lengthens and volumises my lashes in such a way that i sometimes don't feel the need for eyeliner and eyeshadow as this mascara gives my eyes enough impact! I also love that unlike other mascaras, it doesn't flake or give you the dreaded panda eyes. I can get through a whole day at work and a gym session and this mascara looks as good as when i applied it at 7am!

I was going to include my lifestyle favourites here too, but as i wrote this post i realised that it probably will be too long to include them. Expect a lifestyle favourites later next week!felicityxoxohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16208202038137006865noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4435375026440987287.post-4406086429848441572016-12-02T08:35:00.004-08:002016-12-02T08:40:14.220-08:00Rimmel The Only 1 Matte Lipstick // Review Today i'm here to tell you about a recent launch from Rimmel. Rimmel are one of my favourite high street brands, i love their Match Perfection range of concealers and foundations so when they got in touch and asked if i would be interested in reviewing their new lipstick launch, the answer was a big yes please! Amongst other products, Rimmel are known for their hugely popular range of lipsticks. Their Kate Moss range is a sure fire favourite with many of us, so when i received the new range of Matte lipsticks from Rimmel i was hopeful that the formula and quality would be along the same lines.

Described by Rimmel as a 'non drying, long lasting velvet matte colour' the new launch features nine beautiful shades ranging from everyday wearable nudes to more striking purple and magenta hues! Theres even a gorgeous red - perfect for the upcoming christmas season! The packaging is a lovely red shade, with a band towards the bottom of the tube which signifies which colour is inside. This is actually quite handy and allows you to choose your preferred shade very easily.

When you first come to apply the lipstick, you can't help but notice the sweet scent of the lipstick. I actually quite like the scent and i don't find that the scent transfers to the lips in any way either. I know some people really dislike strongly scented products, so definitely have a quick sniff if you are unsure before you buy! Matte lipsticks and more often those that come from 'drugstore' or highstreet brands can be quite drying and difficult to apply. However, i am pleased to report that the Rimmel range apply smoothly and leave a lovely velvety soft finish on the lips. Each shade is also very pigmented (more so with the bolder shades) and i find that one application is enough to leave a good colour pay off on your lips. Once applied, i found that the lipstick lasted pretty much most of the day. It did wear a bit whilst i was eating and drinking but i think you would kind of expect that. So, longevity wise it gets a big thumbs up.

As i said before, there is such a range of shades in the collection that their really is something to suit everyone and for every occasion. I'm sure the purple shade will come in handy at some point...

Look Who's Talking
A gorgeous chocolate brown shade that is perfect for the winter months, or if you want a more subtle autumnal look.

Take The Stage
Every lipstick collection needs a red shade, right?! This shade is a vibrant red which is not for the faint hearted. I'm not sure that i would wear it, but with Christmas (aka red lips season) approaching, you never know!

Run The Show
This purple shade is by far the most eccentric shade of all, i would never wear it day to day or for the evening for that matter as its far too out of my comfort zone. However, i can appreciate that it is a gorgeous shade and i'm sure its perfect for those more confident and daring women!

The Matte Factor
This berry shade is so beautiful and definitely one of my favourites. I can see myself wearing this a lot, especially in the upcoming christmas season as i'm not a big red lip wearer - so this is the perfect substitution.

High Flyer
If you like dusty pink shades, then you will love this one! Ideal for everyday wear and gives your lips a lovely pop of pink.

Trendsetter
This is the true nude of the collection. I'd say this is verging on the more lighter shade of nude and could wash out more olive/darker skin tones. I think this shade would look great with statement/smokey eyed looks for an effortless effect.

Leader Of The Pack
This is bold pink shade, almost barbie pink! I'm currently wearing more berry shades at the moment but come the summer months, i'm sure i will be wearing this.

Salute
I think this a perfect example of a 'my lips but better' shade. It just adds a bit more oomph and colour to what you have already got! I think this nudey pink shade would suit pretty much every skin tone.

Call The Shots
This is a lovely bright pink/coral shade which really packs a punch. Not a colour that i would particularly wear in the autumn months but definitely one i'll be wearing as we go into spring and summer.

Phew, what a line up! I am very impressed with the diverse range and the quality has really blown me away. I've always steered clear of matte or velvet finish lipsticks in the past due to the niggling thought that they may be drying on my lips. However, that is not the case with this range, i found each shade to be smooth to apply and really comfortable to wear.felicityxoxohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16208202038137006865noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4435375026440987287.post-43264575335418781692016-09-24T06:27:00.002-07:002016-09-24T06:30:05.151-07:00Rimmel London Sculpting Palette // Review

Hello everyone,

Hope you are all enjoying the weekend!

I saw one of my favourite YouTubers, Suzie from Hello October singing the praises of the new Rimmel Sculpting Palette. When i saw how amazing it looked on Suzi, i knew i had to have it! So, i swung by my local Boots on the way home from work and was eager to see how i got on with it.

The Rimmel Sculpting Palette is part of the hugely popular Kate Moss range. Some of my favourite lipsticks come from the Kate range, so i was excited to see how the palette's quality compared. The palette is a great all in one sculpting product as it has contour, blush and highlight shades. The palette is contained in a lightweight plastic holder with a flip lid. In the long run, it might not be the most durable but the lightweight aspect means that it is perfect for travelling and it also looks pretty gorgeous with the gold border. I believe that there are two shades of the palette available, 002 Coral Glow and 003 Coral Bronze. I chose Coral Glow as i thought it suited my skin tone better out of the two.

The highlight is the most perfect daytime appropriate highlight that i have used. Sometimes highlighters can look a little too stark for everyday where, but the Rimmel one gives the most beautiful subtle champagne glow that really adds that extra bit of sheen to your everyday look. The contour shade is on the warmer side and i feel that it works just as well as a bronzer too! The colour pay off for the contour shade is quite subtle, and is great to use if you just want a little definition. I also think the contour shade is a great opportunity for people who maybe aren't too confident in contouring to use as it is not as pigmented as other contour shades which are available from other brands. I have actually swapped my trusty Benefit Hoola contour and have been using the Rimmel contour shade everyday since i bought it! The reason being, is that the shade gives me just enough definition for an everyday look and if i apply it in a hurry before work, i can be sure that it is going to give me foolproof subtle definition. Finally, lets move onto in my opinion, the star of the show! The blush is hands down one of my favourite blushes ever. A bold statement, i know but trust me, it really is such a beautiful shade. I find that the blush has just the right amount of pigment to give a lovely coral flush to the cheeks and the slight shimmer adds a lovely glow! The texture of all the shades in the palette are quite similar and apply smoothly to the skin.

In the past, i have found that high street brands can have quite a chalky texture to their powder products but that definitely isn't the case here. The smooth texture allows the products to apply beautifully and effortlessly to the skin and you are left with a gorgeous everyday defined look.

If you haven't guessed already, i am pretty impressed with the palette and i'm already considering buying a back up! Its a palette that i have been using religiously since i bought it as it has everything i need to create a defined daytime cheek look. Priced at just £6.99, this kit would be a perfect addition to anyones make up collection. I would especially recommend it for people who want to dabble in contouring and highlighting for the first time as the pigments in this palette help you to create a softly defined look. Although the shades in the palette are on the more subtle side, they can be built up to create a more defined look. The palette also has a helpful diagram and explanation of how to use the shades on the back.

Let me know if you have tried this palette, and what you thought about it!

Hi guys!

Over the last few months i have really got back into the swing of things beauty wise and lets just say that my bank account has had a bit of a hammering from Feel Unique, Look Fantastic and Boots! On one of my recent online binges i placed an order for the Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder. I was on the lookout for a new setting powder and having tried Vichy products in the past and being impressed, i decided to buy it and see how it performed. It also helped that their was 33% off the product at the time on Feel Unique!

In the past i have been loyal to the good old Rimmel Translucent Setting Pressed powder that we all know and love, however i was very curious to see how a loose setting powder would compare. As usual, i received my order quickly from Feel Unique and couldn't wait to try the bits out that i had ordered.

The Vichy Dermablend setting powder is a white loose powder, so not the most convenient to use and it can be a bit risky to use if you are in a rush...or wearing black clothing - speaking from experience here! The product comes packaged in a standard cardboard box (excuse the tatty packaging, its been sitting in my drawer awaiting photographs for a while) and the product itself is housed in a hard plastic round container with a screw lid. Once the lid is unscrewed and removed, there is a sieve top piece which helps to disperse just enough product for you to use. Just before using this product, i usually tip the product upside down for a second which allows a small amount of product to be dispersed onto the sieve section. I then swirl my brush (usually a stippling brush as this picks up just the right amount of product) into the sieve top piece, then remove an excess in the lid by tapping my brush. Then i find that i have just enough product to set my t-zone area and any other parts that i need to set. I can see that this product is going to last a long time as you only need to use a small amount in order to set your base.

Its worth noting that this product is transparent and totally undetectable once applied. It simply sets your make up without interrupting your base and helps to mattify your skin slightly. I had hoped that this product would help keep my oily skin at bay, and whilst it does a good job until around 1pm, i do find that i have to pop on some pressed powder at around 1pm ish. When i am doing a quick touch up, i find that the powder has set my make up really well and everything is pretty much intact.

The one negative about this product is that it can be a little messy to use. If you are after a quick powder to use to set your make up, this probably isn't for you but if you have a bit more time to use the product, then it really is great. If i have ten minutes spare in the morning, i always pop some of this on as i find it really helps to set my make up and ensures that nothing slides about.

I'm really glad that i bit the bullet and bought this product as it will last me for quite a while and i'm really impressed with it. Considering the longevity and results of this product, i think that the £17 price tag is very fair and its still on offer at Feel Unique if you fancy a bit of a bargain - link is below and no, this is not sponsored/affiliated! If you are on the lookout for an invisible, weightless powder which will help set your make up then i'd really recommend giving this ago.
However, on a recent shopping trip to Boots, i came across the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge and thought i'd give it a go! Most of my brushes are Real Techniques and i have been really impressed with them, so i was excited to see what the miracle complexion sponge would be like.

The product comes packaged in a semi transparent domed plastic case, which is nice as you can see the size and shape of the product. There is the usual description of the product on the front of the packaging and on the back, there is a brief description on how to use the sponge. I found this really useful as i didn't know too much about make up sponges, so this bit of guidance boosted my confidence.

I decided to try the sponge on a day where i was not rushed and could take my time to understand how to use the sponge to its full potential. So, one saturday morning i ditched my RT buffing brush and tried the miracle complexion sponge instead. I firstly wet the sponge under cold water and squeezed the excess water out so that the sponge was damp. Next, i dotted my chosen foundation (Rimmel Match Perfection) on my face and started to bounce the sponge around my face to blend in the foundation. I wasn't sure whether to use the bounce or drag method. I've seen quite a few people drag or swipe the foundation around their face using the sponge which i believe achieves a more high coverage finish, whereas bouncing the sponge around your face gives a more medium coverage. After the first layer, i found that i needed a bit more coverage so popped on a bit more foundation and used the dragging or swiping method, which really helped build up the coverage.

My initial impression was that the sponge helped to create a lovely dewy finish to my skin and the finish looked more natural in comparison to using my RT buffing brush. Obviously the overall finish is going to be down to the foundation that you are using. This sponge can really give you any type of coverage that you wish for, if you want more high coverage then go for the swiping motion, or if you want a more natural finish simply bounce the sponge around your face to blend in the foundation. Its also worth mentioning that the sponge can also be used dry which gives a more full coverage finish. I did try to use the sponge dry but i found that it didn't blend my foundation as well as when the sponge is damp. The only slight negative about that sponge is that it does soak up a little of your foundation, which i guess is inevitable considering it is a sponge! This doesn't really bother me too much but it does leave the sponge with foundation marks on which i have found near impossible to remove.

The design of the product makes the sponge really versatile. Not only can you apply foundation using the large sides of the sponge, but you can also use the flat side for blending around your eyes and nose and the tip of the sponge is great for covering any imperfections. When i originally purchased the sponge, i though that i would only use it for foundation, however i have also been applying concealer and cream blush and bronzer with it too! I also think it may be quite good for creating a subtle contour with, but I'm yet to try.

Overall, i have really been enjoying using the miracle complexion sponge and i will continue to use it. For the small price tag of £5.99 you really can't go wrong with this versatile product. I'd be interested to see how this sponge compares to the popular Beauty Blender (£15.99) and if there are any major differences considering that the RT sponge is a third of the price!

Have you used the RT miracle complexion sponge, or the beauty blender? Let me know your thoughts!
Sure, i have my favourite and failsafe brands which i know i can depend on (Aussie and Loreal FYI) but i'm always up for trying out other products too. So, when i heard about the Coco Loco range from Lee Stafford, i knew it was something that i'd love to try!

I have been aware of Lee Stafford's range of products and have looked at the range in Boots too, but for some reason i have never taken the plunge and bought anything from the brand. As i'm sure many of you know, Lee Stafford himself is one of the Britain's most famous and influential hairdressers and whenever i see interviews with him or read about the brand, i can just feel the passion he portrays about both his brand and hairdressing, this is very reassuring and makes me feel really confident about the products. Sometimes i will buy products from other brands which i love (e.g. Aussie) but i don't really know the people behind the products or the story behind the brand. I think the Lee Stafford brand is really personable and you can really feel that a lot of thought has gone into the products. That wittering probably made no sense, but basically what i am trying to say is that i love how the products are produced by a professional hairdresser who knows what he's talking about!

The Coco Loco range which i'm reviewing is a newish launch from Lee Stafford and contains coconut oil in all of the products. The full range compromises of shampoo, conditioner, coconut mask, coconut spritz, blow and go genius lotion and coconut balm. Basically, most of your hair care needs are covered with this one range! Like many girls, coconut is one of my favourite smells and reminds me summer and beach holidays. I'm actually going to Spain in March so this range is really getting me in the summer sprit. Not only does the range smell beautiful, the coconut oil also has major benefits for your hair, including making your hair smooth, shiny and moisturising dry hair.

The shampoo and conditioner that i tried have really impressed me. The formula of the shampoo is more runny than what i am used to and it doesn't seem to lather up as well as other shampoos which doesn't particularly bother me as it still washes my hair really well. The coconut fragrance is quite apparent in the shampoo but isn't off putting at all. The conditioner which i used alongside the shampoo is also really nice, the consistency is again quite thin which i find quite nice for a conditioner as it allows you to disperse the conditioner thoroughly throughout your hair. When i've used the two products together, i find that they leave my hair not only smelling gorgeous but also really smooth, glossy and nourished too!

The shampoo and conditioner from the Coco Loco range have really impressed me and i'd definitely check out products more from Lee Stafford in the future. Both the shampoo and conditioner retail at £5.99 each which i think is pretty much a steal! They seriously perform way above the price tag and i'd highly recommend that you try them out...especially if you love coconut scent!

Have you tried any Lee Stafford products before?

I hope that you all had a great Christmas and New Year. The festive season seems to have been going on forever and i'm sure most of us will be struggling to get out of bed for work on monday! As some of you may notice, my blog has had a bit of a spring clean. I felt like my blog has been a bit slow off the mark both in terms of design and content, so i emailed the lovely Serena of Pretty Wild Things and she whipped me up my new layout. I absolutely love it and it has really instigated my interest in writing again. Let me know what you think of the design!

Now onto Christmas! As usual, i had a lovely Christmas surrounded by my family. The past year my mum has been very poorly with trips in and out of hospital and it has really taught me that its all about who you spend Christmas with, rather than the presents that you receive that matters the most. Saying that, i was luckily enough to receive some wonderful presents which i am so grateful for.

I never know what i really want for Christmas, if i want something i tend to buy it myself. So, most of my presents were beauty based, with a couple of other bits too. One present which i did ask for was a set of Zoeva brushes. I deliberated long and hard about which set to get, and finally opted for the classic set. They are stunning brushes and i can't wait to use them, although it will kill me a bit inside when they get dirty! Another present which i asked for was the Babyliss Boutique Soft Waves Hair Styler. I curl my hair about three times a week using the Enrapture Totem Styler which i do like but sometimes the clamp can leave an unsightly kink in my hair. The Babyliss Soft Waves has no clamp and is just a barrelled tong, so should give a really nice result. My lovely sister bought me the Benefit Real Cheeky Party which is a palette containing 5 Benefit powders and miniature versions of the They're Real Masacara and Eyeliner. I LOVE Benefit blushes and bronzers so i just know that i will get so much use out of it!

They were my main beauty bits but i also got a few other bits as you can see in the photos. I was truly spoilt and can't wait to try everything!

Alongside my beauty presents, i also received a couple of non-beauty bits. I recently joined a gym and needed a gym bag, as currently i am just using a large handbag! After looking at Sports Direct i chose the Nike XS Brasilia Bag in the purple shade. It is the perfect size and has lots of different compartments too. I also received from my sister, a hot pink (she knows me so well!) Nike water bottle which will be really handy as currently i am just filling up a water bottle every time.

Finally, i received my main present which was a beautiful Ted Baker dressing gown. Its in a lovely light pink shade with embossed hearts on it. I've never felt anything so soft in my life and if i could permanently wear it, i 100% would!

I also got a few other bits which i haven't photographed such as, Soap and Glory bits, Adult Colour Book (yes, i am that cool!), Chocolate, Purse and a cute Mug for work!

I hope you all had a lovely new year, i had a quiet one this year and spent the evening with a takeaway and the family. It was nice to wake up on New Years Day without a hangover! I'm really looking forward to 2016 and just wiping the slate clean and starting afresh!

If you have read my previous post, then you will know that the Nars Sheer Glow foundation is my current favourite base product. I am absolutely head over heels for it, however due to the high cost of the Sheer Glow, i have been using other foundations so that the Sheer Glow lasts a little bit longer!

After watching Kelly on Snapchat ( go follow her at kellycpeel if you are not already!) and hearing her singing the praises of Rimmel's Match Perfection Foundation, i decided to give it a whirl. Rimmel is one of my all time favourite high street beauty brands (i hate the word drugstore... haha) and whenever i'm browsing the Rimmel stand at Boots, i always end up walking away with something - usually a lipstick!

The shade range of the foundation isn't very extensive but in the end i chose 103 True Ivory. I bought this shade as i find that foundations can oxidise on your skin and go darker when applied. True Ivory was a safe choice and it is a good match for my skin tone. It definitely oxidises on my skin, so if you are looking for a very light shade, i wouldn't recommend True Ivory as it is not as light as the shade name would suggest. Definitely swatch it before buying.

The foundation had quite a lot to live up to after i'd become obsessed with my Sheer Glow. Although the Match Perfection doesn't quite live up to my high end choice, it is definitely one of the best high street foundations that i have used. The foundation is a creamy consistency which makes it so easy to blend into your skin. I also find that when blended in, the foundation gives a really nice naturally perfected look to your skin. The foundation doesn't look cakey or too obvious and really does give a natural finish to the skin. I was slightly worried that this foundation would be too radiant for my oily skin type and that i would be forever powdering to compensate. However this has not been the case, although the foundation does have a nice radiant finish, it is quite subtle and does not cause any problems for me. It just adds to the natural finish of the foundation. The foundation is dispensed by the pump on the bottle, which makes it so much easier and less messy to release the foundation from the bottle!

I have been using this about 3 times a week, when i am not making too much of an effort with my makeup and want to keep things simple. This foundation combined with the matching concealer, means that i have a great foundation and concealer duo for days when i want to keep my make up a little more low key...and save my Sheer Glow!

Along with the foundation, i also purchased the matching concealer. I picked the shade 010 Ivory, as with the foundation. I always prefer my concealers to be a bit lighter than normal as i think it brightens nicely under the eyes. When i first used this concealer i was slightly confused by the brush like applicator. It is nothing like i have ever seen before so i was a bit dubious! However once i got the hang of squeezing the tube to release the product onto the applicator, i was really impressed! The applicator actually makes applying the concealer very quick and easy. The brush does get a little clogged up with remnants of the concealer as you are nearing the end of the tube, but this does not affect the product dispensing at all. It just looks a bit gross!

I apply this concealer mainly under my eyes and on any niggling spots or marks. The shade is spot on for me, a little lighter than my complexion and i find that it doesn't oxidise at all, unlike the foundation. The concealer has a beautiful creamy consistency and is not too thick either. The coverage of this concealer is absolutely incredible! It can cover my 7am dark circles and any pesky spots which have arrived overnight! I also find that you don't need a lot of this concealer to gain a good coverage. A couple of swipes under my eyes and my dark circles are banished. The concealer feels quite hydrating on the skin and doesn't appear to cling to any drier patches.

I have been really impressed with this combination of base products and will definitely be repurchasing them in the future. For just £7.99 for the foundation, the True Match is such good value for money and i'm actually really impressed with it! The concealer at £5.99 is probably my favourite of the two products and although it took me a few days to get the hang of it, it is now my favourite high street concealer and definitely rivals the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer, which is also another favourite of mine.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend and enjoying the sunshine, if you have any! Today i thought i would talk you through my foray into the wonderful world of NARS. I have always browsed the Space NK website and have put some NARS products into my digital basket many a time, however i could never bring myself to hit the 'Confirm Order' button to complete the transaction. The thought of spending £30 plus on a product which i didn't know if i would like was a nervewracking prospect. However, a month ago my curiosity got the better of me and when i saw that my wages had landed in my bank account, i bit the bullet and ordered three items from NARS. A couple of days later and a little black box arrived in the post containing my mini haul.

Nars Sheer Glow // Deauville
£31.00

This is a favourite amongst make up artists and bloggers alike, so this was the instigator in my NARS haul! Having never owned a high end foundation, i was so excited to try this foundation and i had very high hopes for it. Tanya Burr was the main enabler for me, she uses this in her foundations quite frequently and it makes her skin look so perfected and flawless. I opted for the shade 'Deauville'. As i don't have a NARS counter near to me, i looked online for swatches and was struggling to decide between Deauville and Fiji. In the end i decided to go for Deauville, which i believe to be the lighter of the two shades. I always think its better to have a foundation shade which is a little too light, rather than too dark as you can always bronze up your skin to compensate.

From opening the cardboard packaging surrounding the product and being met with a luxurious looking bottle with a matte black chunky lid, this was a great first impression! The consistency of the foundation is quite runny, and definitely caught me by surprise when i excitedly tipped the bottle to pour some of the foundation out. Although the consistency is quite runny, this doesn't mean that you need a lot of it to gain a good coverage. I have found that a little goes a long way with this foundation and i only needed a small amount to gain a good coverage for daytime use. So, hopefully the bottle will last me quite a while! The foundation leaves a lovely 'glow' to the skin and sits somewhere between matte and dewy. It gives your skin a lovely natural luminous effect and i find that it effortlessly provides a flawless perfected finish with medium coverage. I've also found that it lasts pretty well throughout the day, although i do have to touch up with powder a couple of times due to my oily skin type!

There is no getting away from the fact that this foundation is on the pricey side. Buying this was such a gamble for me as i was so unsure as to whether i would like it or not! As you can probably tell, i absolutely love the foundation and think it is definitely worth the price tag. The foundation is totally different compared to any other foundation that i've used and when i do try other foundations, they do not even come close to the Sheer Glow. I think i may have turned into a foundation snob!

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer // Vanilla

£22.00

Along with the foundation, i also bought the Radiant Creamy Concealer. This product has been hyped about by some of my favourite YouTubers and i was curious whether it could rival my trusty budget concealer, the Collection Lasting Perfection. I have the concealer in the shade 'Vanilla', which i believe is one of the lightest colours. I love having a light concealer as i tend to use it as a highlighter come concealer - always lusting over the Kardashian effect! The packaging feels much more sturdy than similar drugstore concealers, the glass/plastic bottle and matte black lid look sophisticated and gives a great impression of quality. The concealer is applied using the doe foot applicator, which personally is one of my favourite methods of applying concealer. The applicator makes is very quick and easy to apply, and you can really wiggle the applicator to ensure that every drop of concealer is used up!

The first time i used this, my hopes were very high - especially after using the Sheer Glow! I firstly noticed how much thicker the concealer felt, in comparison to my Collection one. I persevered and started blending it in with my Real Techniques Setting Brush. Once blended in, i found that the concealer gathered under my eyes and settled into any creases and dry patches around my eyes. Not a good look! After my first attempt, i have played around with different ways of using the concealer. I have decided that for me, it is best to not apply this directly under my eyes as for some reason it does settle into any creases and clings to any dry patches. When i use this on blemishes or for highlighting purposes, i find it does a good job and provides excellent coverage.

The concealer was a bit of a let down for me and i don't really think it is worth the money. Such a shame as i really wanted to like it! I do think its good for covering any blemishes but i find that it clings to dry patches quite easily.

NARS Pro Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Primer
£19.50

To complete my order, i opted for NARS' eyeshadow primer. Prior to using this, i had been faithful to the Urban Decay Primer Potion. However the UD just wasn't working for me anymore and i was on the lookout for a replacement. After googling and reading some reviews, i decided that NARS' eyeshadow primer was the one to go for. I have super oily eyelids and a primer is a must for me on an everyday basis. The primer is packaged in a plastic white tube with a matte black top. You apply the primer using the doe foot applicator, which is really useful for the early mornings when i can simply dab a bit of the primer on each eyelid.

The primer itself is a white creamy substance which when blended, becomes transparent. It blends beautifully onto the lid and is virtually undetectable! I found that any eye make up glides beautifully over the primer and colour payoff is enhanced due to the base. The primer ensures that my eye make up lasts pretty much all day - from 7am when it is applied until 9pm when i remove it.

There is not too much more i can say about this primer but i am really impressed with it. It glides onto the lid nicely and ensures my make up stays on all day. Just what i need it to do!

So, those are my first three NARS purchases and overall i am really impressed! The foundation and primer have really exceeded my expectations and i will definitely be repurchasing them in the future. I'm also eyeing up the Laguna bronzer, which i have been lusting over for years! Maybe i will bite the bullet and order it...

Do you have any NARS recommendations?

It has been a while since i have wrote a proper review, so lets see how this pans out! I'm trying to get back into the swing of blogging but i've been procrastinating lately, so i though i'd bite the bullet and sit down to write a post! I also treated myself to a Canon 600D which i've used today. Let me know what you think of the photos...

Todays post is all about a great shampoo and conditioner duo which i have been loving using recently. Normally, i'm not too fussed with shampoo and just choose whatever is on offer in Boots or the supermarket. However, i have heard so many positive remarks about Garnier's new Ultimate Blend range of shampoo and conditioner, that i just had to give them a go!

I actually bought these from Boots and was so surprised by the amount of choice that there was from the Ultimate Blends range. The range spans from products specifically to help dry hair to products which can add a bit more shine to your hair. As my hair has been a little dry, frizzy and lacklustre recently, (probably due to the unseasonably cool weather we are having) i opted for 'The Silky Smoother' shampoo which states that it helps revitalise and obviously smooth your hair. This sounded like it would fit the bill perfectly. After looking at the bottle, i gave the contents a quick sniff (does anyone else do this?!) and was greeted by a vanilla scent. I absolutely love anything vanilla scented, so this shampoo seemed perfect for me. I also purchased the accompanying conditioner from the Sleek Restorer range. This smells just as delightful as the shampoo and has gorgeous coconut oil and coconut butter scents. Almost good enough to eat!

The consistencies of both the shampoo and conditioner are great. Some shampoos which i have used in the past have been quite runny and therefore half of the shampoo ends up on the shower base! However, the Ultimate Blends shampoo is a great medium consistency and is easy to lather your hair up with. I found that you do not have to use too much of this shampoo as a little really does go a long way, i tend to use a 50p size amount. I really found my hair felt a lot smoother after using the shampoo, so much so that i wondered if i needed the conditioner! On a couple of occasions i used the shampoo on its own and did not use the conditioner. I found that my hair was noticeably smoother and felt like it was much more healthy and nourished. When i used the conditioner, i found that leaving it in my hair for a couple of minutes really ensured that the conditioner could get to work and really enrich my hair.
When the two products have been used together, i found that my hair has felt much more smoother and less frizzy. This is essentially what i had hoped from these two products and they have really come up trumps!

I have really been enjoying using this range and will definitely look to repurchase others from the range in the future. I feel that Garnier have really hit the nail on the head with this range, they offer a fantastic range to suit all hair types and at a really affordable price, with most of the products coming in at under three pound.

A lot has happened in the last 6 months, hence the total lack of blog posts and limited activity on social media. The last 6 months have turned my life upside down and inside out, but it finally looks like things are settling down. My time away from my blog has made me think about my life, what i'm doing with it and where i want to go. I've decided that anything i want to do (within reason), i should do and that i shouldn't take things for granted in life, even the small things!

I've always dreamt of owning a Canon 600D and 50mm Lens, yet i've never had the guts to actually buy one. Simply because i know people would say 'you won't use it' and 'thats a waste of money'. However, the last few months have made me realise that life really is too short (nobody died, don't worry!!) and if i want a new camera, i work bloody well hard enough to treat myself to one! So, one is winging its way to me as i type.

On the subject of cameras, YouTube has been something that i've always wanted to have a real go at. I've posted videos intermittently and have not devoted time to it at all. However, now i'm equipped with my Canon 600D, i have no real excuse to not start having a real go at it. I have lots of ideas for videos and can't wait to start filming!

Life is still pretty hectic at the moment with work and life events. However, as we are rolling into spring, i can only see things becoming increasingly more positive and hopefully a bit calmer!

I will leave you with a quote which i came across yesterday

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend!

I was recently contacted by Chemist Direct to review one of the products off of their website. After 30 minutes of browsing, i picked the Bare Minerals Ready To Go Complexion Perfection palette. I have wanted to try some of the Bare Minerals range for a while but i never knew which product to try first, so after reading the description of the Ready To Go palette, it sounded perfect.

The Ready To Go kit is great if you are looking to try out mineral make up as in the kit you receive 5 Bare Minerals products to try (Foundation, Concealer, Bronzer, Highlighter and a Face Powder), two make up brushes and it is all held in a lovely little make up clutch/bag.

The products are housed in a rectangle palette which is held via magnets in the make up clutch. This is a pretty cool idea as once you have finished with the make up, you can still use the make up bag. Its a perfect size for work and is just big enough to carry a few essentials in. It took me a while to realise that the palette was magnetic and i originally thought that i'd ripped the palette out by mistake!

So, onto the products. As i previously mentioned, there are five products in the palette. A foundation, concealer, bronzer, highlighter and a face powder.

First up is the foundation, now unfortunately the foundation is a shade too dark for me (boo!). I applied it thinking that it may look different when applied, but alas it didn't so out came the face wipes! Even though the shade was totally wrong for me, the way it applied to the skin was lovely - very soft, blendable and it gave a nice natural 'my skin but better' finish. One thing which made me slightly hesitant about using mineral make up was simply applying it, i always thought that blending a powder foundation would probably be more difficult than a fluid liquid foundation. After all my doubts, i actually found it easier than i thought! I'd recommend not loading your brush up too much, and just building the coverage slowly. Even though the shade was too dark, i did find the foundation easy to apply and loved the finish.

Next up, concealer. Concealer is my favourite part of make up of my make up routine, i often have late nights cooped up in bed watching YouTube and before i know it its midnight and i have to be up at 6.30am, oops! As you can tell, concealer is a necessity. I found this concealer to be very creamy, easy to blend and it covered any blemishes very well. I didn't apply this under my eyes as it is slightly thick in consistency so could possibly go a little cakey under the eyes. However, on spots and blemishes it worked a treat!

The bronzer is this palette is absolutely gorgeous. I love it so much, i'm trying to only use it for special occasions! The shade is very pigmented so only a little is needed to create a lovely contour and the bronzer is on the cooler side which means there is little chance of turning into an oompa loompa! Much like the foundation, this blends like a dream.

The one product that my eyes were drawn to once i opened the palette was the luminizer, i've got a bit of a thing with highlighters at the moment and this one set my heart alight. This isn't a highly glossy or shimmery highlighter, it simply gives you a natural glow which instantly lifts your face. I apply this mainly over the top of my cheek bones and then with what ever is left on the brush, i quickly sweep over my blush to give me an extra bit of radiance. Again, this applies smoothly and leaves a beautiful glow.

The final product in the palette is the Touch Up Veil, or to you and me - a face powder. Face powder is an everyday essential for me, firstly applied in the morning and also throughout the day. The Touch Up Veil is a very good description of this product, it literally covers over any imperfections and gives them a little bit of extra coverage. This also keeps shine at bay, i applied it in the morning and needed a touch up by lunchtime - which is pretty good by my standards and considering we were in the midst of a heatwave whilst i was trialling this! I've also been using this on days when i don't fancy wearing foundation and just need a little bit of coverage.

You also receive two of the Bare Minerals brushes with this palette. The brushes are lovely and soft but unfortunately were tossed aside and i use my beloved Real Techniques brushes as i do with all my make up.

I'm very impressed with my first step into mineral make up and i may pay a visit to the Bare Minerals counter at my local Debenhams soon...

Have you tried Bare Minerals make up, any recommendations?

P.s. After reading this review back, it almost seems like a sponsored post - but i promise it isn't! I was simply given this to review, no strings attached!felicityxoxohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16208202038137006865noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4435375026440987287.post-82863058381742957122014-08-03T09:46:00.000-07:002014-08-03T09:46:00.217-07:00Garnier Cleansing Micellar Water // ReviewI've become slightly obsessed with Micellar waters, firstly i tried the elusive Bioderma (which naturally, i loved!), next i trialled Vichy's offering (which i liked, but i found it irritated my skin slightly...) and most recently i've been using Garnier's offering.

Incase you are not upto scratch on Micellar waters, i'll give you a quick lesson. Micellar solutions contain 'micelles' which latch onto make up and impurities and gently lift them from your skin. Leaving your skin, soft and hydrated. Micellar waters work very well for me as my skin has recently become quite sensitive, and as micellar waters are more pure than traditional make up removers they work very well on my skin as the formulas are very gently and they don't agitate it at all.

The Garnier Micellar Water was one product which i've heard raved about from pillar to post. After using the last drop of my Bioderma, i wanted to see what the likes of Boots/Superdrug had to offer and Garnier's rendition seemed to fit the bill. It didn't take me long to find it on the shelf, with a bright pink top and a humongous bottle - it definitely looks pretty impressive and you feel like you are getting your moneys worth due to its large size! Rather optimistically the bottle states that you can get '200 uses' out of the 400ml bottle, i'm not too sure whether you can get 200 uses as that is approx 7 months use but i do think that this would last a long time. I've been using it for about 2 months and i've only used a small amount as you can see.

I use the Garnier Micellar Water just as i would with any other, i take a cotton pad and soak it with the water then simply glide it over my face to thoroughly remove any make up. It removes make up with ease, even mascara/eye liner is removed rather swiftly with this stuff! After using this, my skin is left feeling soft, hydrated and not irritated in the slightest.

Have you tried Micellar Waters before? Which is your favourite?felicityxoxohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16208202038137006865noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4435375026440987287.post-89146313243493657462014-06-29T10:17:00.002-07:002014-06-29T10:17:33.966-07:00Summer Fashion Haul // ASOS, Miss Selfridge & TopshopA couple of months ago the english weather started to get a little warmer (by 'warmer' i mean above 15 degrees...) and it soon became apparent that my wardrobe was full of woolly jumpers, leggings and winter ready items. In a moment of mad panic i made a cuppa (priorities), made a hasty order on ASOS and was wearing summer ready items the next day. I spent an eye watering amount on ASOS but i did send a lot of it back, and was left with some great versatile pieces that will see me through summer. I also picked up a few bits from Topshop and Miss Selfridge. Miss Selfridge are seriously onto of their game at the moment, so definitely check them out if you're looking to top up your wardrobe.

A lot of the items i bought from ASOS were from the ASOS Collection, which i think is the best part of ASOS. Everything is very much on trend and affordable too.

Aswell as writing a blog post on my purchases i've also filmed a YouTube video on them too, so if you fancy watching me waffle on about fashion then here is the video. If you enjoyed it, please subscribe!

I don't think i have ever wrote a fashion haul on my blog before, so here we go! I hope you get some summer fashion inspiration from this post.

ASOS Top in Peach (link)

I love the style of boxy tops, so when i saw this on ASOS i decided i needed it. The peachy colour is really flattering and looks gorgeous with a tan. Its such a versatile piece which you can dress up or down, which is why i bought it for holiday and also for work.

ASOS Flightplan Sandals (link)

Buying sandals on the high street is more or less impossible for me as i have such teeny tiny feet (UK Size 2/3) and shops tend to only stock size 4 and higher. So, i regularly turn to ASOS for my shoe needs. These tan sandals are perfect for spring and summer, they are really comfy for walking around and look great too.

Another boxy top! I saw this white one on ASOS and thought this would be very versatile for summer and work. At just £14.99 its a real bargain and it also comes in a variety of colours too, which i may be perusing as i type...

New Look via ASOS Kimono (link)

I've been after a kimono for ages but i didn't want a flowery one so i found this black and white aztec printed one which looks great with a pair of denim shorts and a simple top for summer evenings. Kimonos are such a great piece to throw over the top of a simple outfit to add a little something extra.

ASOS Shorts with Scallop Hem (link)
I apologise for the rubbish photo - taking photos of black shorts is harder than it would seem...

I practically lived in these shorts throughout the evenings of my holiday. They are black, so match any top i decided to wear. The unusual scalloped hem gives the shorts a much softer look and is more flattering for your legs too.

ASOS Stripe Bikini Top (link)

Everytime i go on holiday i buy a new bikini, not that i really need anymore! This time around i fancied a classic striped one. This bandeau one from ASOS fits really nicely and is a great price too. It also comes with shoulder straps but i took these off.

Miss Selfridge Blue Baroque Floral Print T Shirt (link)

This was an item which i picked up last weekend. Its slightly more cropped than i tend to go for but it makes a nice change and the length is great for summer to wear with shorts or skirts. The colour is quite an unusual mix, a combination of lilac and light blue which isn't something that i tend to go for.

Topshop Raglan Stripe T Shirt (link)

I'm always after casual daytime t-shirts, you know something that you can just throw on at the weekend with a pair of jeans. This topshop tee fits the bill perfectly, it fits really well and is a pinch at just £16!

Topshop Dress - This was in the sale and seems to have disappeared from the Topshop website...

I found this in the Topshop sale and thought it would be perfect for work and just everyday wear. The fit and flare skirt part is really flattering too and whilst the blue colour isn't usually something that I'm drawn to, i think it makes a nice change.

H&M Peach Statement Necklace

I'm not usually one for wearing a lot of jewellery but i wanted something that i could wear with my boxy style tops. I saw this in H&M and thought that this would be great, its more simple than other statement necklaces that i've seen but it still adds that extra something to an otherwise simple ensemble.

So, that is all my summer items which i've bought recently. Perhaps i need to go on a bit of a spending ban now! Hope you are all having a good weekend, monday rolls around far too quick for my liking!!

P.s. What do you think of my new blog design? The wonderful Steph from Bonjour Belle Designs created it for me and i love it. If you are looking for a great, quick and affordable designer i'd highly recommend Steph - She's awesome!

On my quest to find the perfect skincare range i have recently been trialling a range of products from a brand called ARK that are totally new to me. There Age Aware Skincare has received many a positive review, so i was very excited to see what they had to offer. I'll let ARK explain what their Age Aware Skincare ranges are all about...

'ARK Age Aware Skincare is prescribed by skin age rather than skin type. There are two main transition periods in the ageing process where there is a dramatic shift in hormone production and a significant change in the way the body functions: late 20s to early 30s and late 50s to early 60s. ARK has looked at the skin externally and internally during these transition periods and divided its skin therapy into three “age appropriate” product lines: Teens to Early 30s (Age Prepare), Mid 30s to 50s (Age Maintain) and 50 & Beyond (Age Repair)'

As you can tell, they have all bases covered no matter what your age! I was given the ARK Age Aware Discovery Collection, at £28.00 you receive four of the travel size products. The products arrive in a handy little bag which would be great for travelling with. My order also arrived in a rather plush looking gift bag (who doesn't love these?!)

Masque
I'll be honest, i'm not the hugest fan of face masques. If i'm having a pamper sesh then i'll put one on but i tend to use them more on special occasions rather than say every week. That being said, i did make more of a conscious effort to use this mask more regularly (once a week). My skin at the time of using this masque was being a bit temperamental (redness, blemishes...) and i found that after using the masque my skin felt a lot 'calmer' and i noticed that the redness had reduced too. I've suffered from large pores around my nose for quite some time now and i found that this mask helped them appear a lot smaller, which in turn made my skin look a lot smoother. I think i'll be adding masques into my skincare routine from now on...

Cleanser
I was slightly skeptical of using a new cleanser as i feel like i've finally got my cleansing routine down to a 'T'. The first thing i noticed when using this is how fresh it smelt, no strong sweet scent just quite pure and natural which is always encouraging! I found this cleanser to be very gentle and it didn't irritate my skin at all (Phew!). The cleanser lathered up quite well and my skin felt thoroughly cleansed after each use. After a few uses i noticed that my few blemishes had reduced and my skin felt a lot more calm.

Exfoliator
I'm an avid exfoliator and feel that my skin is always looking a whole lot better once its been exfoliated. This exfoliator is quite similar to the cleanser in the sense that it is very gentle, so if you don't like exfoliators that are too harsh or abrasive then this would be perfect. The texture is quite creamy with a few bentonite beads to give you a gentle exfoliation. I'd recommend this to people with sensitive skin but still want to use an exfoliator in their routine.

Moisturiser
I've been using the Origins Ginzing moisturiser since i received it for Christmas, so i was keen to see how this would compare. I was firstly very pleased to discover that this is a non greasy moisturiser which is great news for me as i have oily/combination skin. The moisturiser is very hydrating, and after using it i really notice how soft it leaves my skin. It takes around 2-3 minutes to sink into the skin, which i think is quite good considering it is on the thicker side.

I have really enjoyed using the ARK skincare range and think the whole concept is very well thought out and easy to understand. If you have sensitive skin and prefer products that are rather gentle then i'd highly recommend them. Have you tried or heard of ARK Skincare before?

A couple of weeks ago i received a parcel from the Belgium online pharmacy website, Farmaline. Farmaline very nicely allowed me to choose one product from their website to review. After browsing the website, my eyes were drawn to the elusive Bioderma! I've been itching to try Bioderma for so long so now seemed like the perfect opportunity.

I received my parcel very swiftly (well within a week from ordering), which came packaged well in a branded box. Farmaline had also included a few samples of other skincare brands (Louis Widmer, A'Vogel) and also a rather large sample of the Vichy Foundation Kit which i know is meant to be amazing so i'm very excited to try that out. I also received a full size bottle of the Vichy 3 In 1 Purete Thermale Micellar Water which i have not yet tried but i'm looking forward to seeing how it compares to the Bioderma.

I've been using the Bioderma pretty much since i received it and i've found it removes my daily make up with ease. If you find yourself to be a bit lazy with your skincare then Bioderma will suit you perfectly. Every night i apply the Bioderma to a cotton pad and simply glide the pad around my face and eyes to remove all my make up. After swiftly removing my make up i am left with clean skin, no oily residue (which a lot of cleansers leave behind), no red eyes and it didn't irritate my skin either. This stuff truly lives upto the hype. As i previously mentioned, Faramaline also included a Vichy Micellar Water which i'm interested in seeing how this will compare with the Bioderma - comparison to come asap.

Farmaline stock a range of great skincare and health products and are well worth a look into. I for one found the experience very easy and fast. http://www.farmaline.co.uk/health/

If you didn't know already, i've recently decided to enter the realm that is YouTube. I've already uploaded 2 videos (Whats In My Bag and a February Favourites) and today's video is a tutorial for my beloved Enrapture Extremity Heated Rollers. I'm hoping that the more videos i make, the more confident i will become on camera...

You can watch the video below

Alongside the tutorial of the Heated rollers i thought i'd include a blogpost alongside, y'know so you can see some decent photos and read about them in more detail.

The rollers arrive in a rather large plastic container, with a plastic lid. Inside, there are 20 rollers (10 larger for volume and 10 smaller for more defined curls) the rollers have a small slit in them which slots nicely into the rail in the casing, which is where they heat up. The rollers take around 2 minutes to heat upto their maximum heat setting.

(Don't mind me in the reflection...)

The heating process of the heated rollers is quite innovative, as heat is emitted from both the roller, and from the butterfly clip which has a metal plate on the inside. Both these work together to ensure that the roller stays heated for longer, meaning your style will last a whole lot longer. If you have thick long hair, these rollers will ensure that the heat is carried throughout your hair.

The rollers have a velvet type texture to them which means that they cling to your hair a lot better. Once the hair is rolled around the roller, you simply place one of the butterfly clips on top to hold the roller into place. Once all the rollers are in place, it takes around 10 minutes until all the rollers have cooled down to touch, which is when you know they are ready to be gently removed.

I've used these rollers both when my hair was longer and also on my now shorter hair, and the rollers work great on both lengths. For use on longer hair, they can give you that gorgeous hybrid hair of Cheryl Cole/Victorias Secret - If you want to see the rollers in action on longer hair, i'll refer you to Corrie (of Dizzybrunette3) who is a whizz at using them on her long hair (link)

Tips & Tricks

♥ I find starting from the crown area easiest, then simply work your way through your hair.
♥ If you want more root lift, pull the piece of hair forward and down and roll so the roller sits tight on your hair.
♥ Always roll the roller under rather than over if you want more volume. If you roll upwards over the hair you will get more of a flickier style.

I absolutely love these rollers, they give full bodied bouncy curls within around 15 minutes and are very easy to use on both longer and shorter hair. Check out my video on them (link) if you fancy a look at them in action - and if you're feeling SUPER nice feel free to Subscribe/Like/Comment. I'm really trying to give YouTube a go, so any interactions would be fab! haha *shameless plug over*

I've found that the rollers are often on offer, so a quick google is well worth it if you are looking to buy these rollers. The rollers are currently on offer at very.co.uk (link) for £48.00 instead of the RRP which is £60.00 (I'm not affiliated/sponsered by Very *i wish ;)*)
I hope you all have a lovely Sunday, i can't believe how warm it is today - Hello Spring!
Its been one of my new year resolutions to give making YouTube videos a real good go, so with that in mind i sat down and filmed an easy 'Whats In My Bag' video. I thought this would be an easy video to dip my toes into the YouTube pool. I've not quite cracked the lighting situation, so bare with me on that!

I'd love it if you checked it out and subscribe/like if you feel like doing so! :)

I get kind of stuck in a rut with my shampoo / conditioner combo, i don't generally change my combination until the last drop is gone. So when Neal & Wolf asked if i'd like to review the shampoo and conditioner from their Ritual range, i gladly accepted!

Neal & Wolf are a brand which i've always admired, every review i've read has been positive and they have an air of luxury surrounding their products.

As a rather indulgent brand, the packaging follows suit. The shampoo and conditioner are encased in a luxurious looking purple tube, with a slight embossed effect on the tube. It really is the most stunning packaging i've seen for shampoo/conditioner and looks great in the bathroom!

The range i've been using is called 'Ritual'. The shampoo has an infusion of silk and milk proteins to boost vital moisture and deliver brilliant shine, which will lead to luxurious, easy to manage and radiant locks according to Neal & Wolf. I found this shampoo definitely helped hydrate my hair, i noticed that it looked less frizzy and much more manageable to dry and style - a far cry from my usual after shower hair routine! The shampoo lathers up nicely, so if you've got medium to long hair you will be fine using a 50p sized amount of product.

The conditioner is similar to the shampoo in that it has similar promises (leaves hair smooth and easy to manage). I noticed that my hair was a whole lot easier to get a brush through when using this conditioner, usually i'm tugging out my tangles but after using this i noticed that the brush glided through my hair with minimal tugs. After rinsing the conditioner off (i left it on for 30 seconds) it left my hair so soft and didn't weigh my hair down either, which i find some conditioners can do.

I actually enjoy drying my hair when using this combo, as i know its not going to feel like such a chore. The two together leave my hair feeling a lot more hydrated, smooth and a lot easier to dry! I must also add, these two products have that 'salon scent' which i love, it makes you feel very indulgent and it also lingers on your hair too, so others can appreciate the smell too! ;)

Using these products has been a real treat for me, i'll be so sad when they run out! Definitely check out the range if you are on the lookout for a new shampoo/conditioner or if you just fancy a bit of a treat.

The Ritual Shampoo & Conditioner retail at £10.95 each - Neal & Wolf have free delivery at the moment (link)

One of my most anticipated christmas presents this year was the Urban Decay Naked Palette 3. The moment it was available for pre-order i emailed my mum the link (subtle huh?!) and told her i would like it for Christmas. I explained to her that the shades were more rose-gold/pink toned but i don't think she quite understood my hysteria for the palette! Anywho, i unwrapped the palette on Christmas day and i think its my favourite Naked edition yet.

As i mentioned above, there have been 2 other Naked palettes, both of which i still use during the week. The third edition of the palette has more pinky toned shades in, which is a nice transition from palettes 1 & 2.

When i opened the outer cardboard packaging i was very pleased to see that Urban Decay have continued with similar casing as the Naked 2 Palette - its hard, sturdy and easier to clean than the velour finish on the Naked 1 palette. The packaging also has a slight ripple effect on it, which is quite nice although i think i prefer the simple casing of Naked palette 2 out of the three palettes.

Inside the case you get 12 highly pigmented shades (more on them later...), a double sided brush which is slightly different than the one in Naked 2 as the blending end is more dense and a lot easier to blend with. The Naked palette also comes with a mirror in the lid which is always helpful. As a little added extra, Urban Decay have included a pouch of 4 samples of their primers. You get 4 primers, Original, Sin, Eden and Anti-Ageing. I'm a daily user of the original Urban Decay primer potion so these will be great to use. These primers are also great for travelling with as they are only small.

Lets get onto the main part of the palette - the shadows. As i mentioned above, most of the shades are rose-gold/pink toned. There are three matte shades and nine shimmers, quite a nice ratio as i do prefer shimmer eyeshadows than matte.

Strange

Pale neutral pink matte

This matte shade will be great for highlighting the brow bone, or as a base. I've not actually got another matte eyeshadow like this, so i'm sure this versatile shade will come in extremely useful.

Dust

Pale metallic pink shimmer with iridescent micro-glitter

This is one shade that i'm not totally sold on. It looks pretty in the palette but upon swatching it i found the glitter to be quite chunky and gritty. I found you get more of the glitter in this shade, rather than the actual colour of the shadow.

Burnout

Light pinky-peach satin

I can already tell that i'm going to be wearing this shade daily, it looks great as a wash of colour over the lid for a simple everyday look.

Limit

Light dusty rose matte

Another matte shade, i'm not a huge fan of matte shades as sometimes they can appear dull/chalky on my skin, however i think this would look nice as a crease colour with a nice champagne shade on the lid. (writing this blogpost is giving me so many ideas for looks from this palette!)

Buzz

Metallic rose shimmer with silver micro-glitter

This shadow has flecks of glitter similarly to 'Dust'. However, the colour pay off is pretty decent and the glitter is not much of an issue either. This is a shade which i don't usually wear, but i'm going to try and rock the cranberry trend and this seems like a great place to start!

Trick

Light metallic pinky-copper shimmer with tonal micro-sparkle

When i first saw this shade i immediately thought of the shade 'Half Baked' which is my most used shade from the Naked palette 2. This is darker than half baked but its still a beautiful bronze shade that will get a lot of use.

Nooner

Medium pinky-brown matte

This matte shade is pretty darn gorgeous, i can see this looking uh-mazing in the crease or even used over the lid for an effortless yet gorgeous look.

Liar

Medium metallic mauve shimmer

A shimmery more bronze/brown shade that i will probably use day/night. A very versatile shade that you can use as a great base for a smokey eye.

Factory

Pinky-brown satin

Another shimmery brown shade, this will be great to darken up a smokey eye. I had a quick look through my other Naked palettes and this shade is actually quite unique when applied, i don't have a colour thats like it.

Mugshot

Metallic taupe shimmer with slight pink shift

I love this, its a cool toned taupe shimmer shade, which i can tell will be one of my most used shades in the palette.

Darkside

Deep taupe-mauve satin

This is a gorgeous shadow in both texture and colour, i'm not sure how i will wear it yet though as it is quite dark...

Blackheart

Smoky black matte with rosy red micro-sparkle

A pretty showstopping shade, it has a black base with specks on red glitter running through. One shade which will not be used a lot by me, but it is stunning none the less.

All in all, this is my favourite Naked edition so far. The palette has a range of matte, shimmer and full on glitter shades which will cater to all occasions. If you like your rose toned shades, then i'd definitely look at purchasing this. At £37.00 its not exactly cheap, however if you take into account that you get twelve highly pigmented shadows, a double ended brush and 4 sample primers its actually pretty good value for money!

What do you think of this palette? Better or worse than the first two?
